About Tim...

Tim Walker is a singer, songwriter and guitarist in Houston, Texas.  With a childhood spread across Texas, Arkansas and Tennessee, and  musical influences that include bluegrass, rock 'n' roll and jazz, it's no wonder that Tim writes and plays music that doesn't quite fit any one category.

Early work on the Roy Rogers signature model guitar!

Tim first appeared on the Houston acoustic music scene as part of WoodenWork.  Later, he teamed up with singer-songwriter April Kelly, performing as a duo and as the Walker Kelly Band.  He has performed at original music venues which include Anderson Fair, McGonigel's Mucky Duck, Ovations, and SRO.  Tim has opened shows for Livingston Taylor, Shake Russell and Dana Cooper.

In 2000, Tim won first place in the Next Door Coffeehouse's Acoustic Songwriter competition.

Tim also has a technical background, with an engineering degree in the field of electronics.  Aside from his work in industry with control systems, his experience also includes design and development of pickup and amplification systems for acoustic guitar.  See more about that on the "Guitar/Amplification" page.
